CAS Thinking of You Card

When I purchased this digi from Tiffany's Doodles, I saw this card featured along with it.  These dahlias are actually a bouquet in a bottle, but through the wonders of Photoshop Elements, I was able to resize them and make the black outline a different color.  I rarely use yellow in my cards and I was really pleased to be able to CASE a card that used yellow.  I was going to use a stamp to conventionally stamp the sentiment, but I couldn't get it to come out black enough to really stand out from the image.  I noticed on the CASE card that they had used black cutout letters.

Details:
  • Digi from Tiffany Doodles
  • Computer generated sentiment
  • Copics Y19 and YR14

Boy Missing You Card

Boy cards can be in short supply for OWH, so I try to make some for all of my boxes.

  • Verve sentiment stamp
  • Stampin' Up window punch
  • Spellbinders oval dies

I Brake for Stamps Fall Card

I am trying to make more cards with just a sentiment on them instead of always using an image.  I really like this sentiment stamp from I Brake for Stamps.

Details:
  • OWH sketch 55
  • Sentiment stamp from I Brake for Stamps
  • Copics R24 and YR14 for the heart
  • Leaf paper from Paper Pizzaz and plaid paper from K&Company

Autumn Has Arrived at OWH

  • OWH sketch 99
  • Sentiment stamp from Impression Obsession
  • Basic Grey orange paper Sugar Rush Sweet and Sour
  • Recollection navy background card stock

Using up those Scraps

Because I am one of those crazy people who love their paper so much, I decided to use one of OWH's sketches to use them up.  This card features the leftover paper from my previous card paired with a different digi and sentiment.

  • Thank you stamp - unknown - heat embossed
  • Authentique paper for the sentiment oval
  • Spellbinders Labels 18 and Oval dies

OWH Sketch Challenge 130

This week's sketch from Operation Write Home (link here) really made me think a long time about my design.  This card didn't even finish the way it started, but I am pleased with how it turned out.  Because it is so pink, I only made one for this time of year.

Details:
  • OWH sketch 130
  • Image and sentiment stamps from Hero Arts

Favorite Sketch - OWH Sketch 120

I really like Sketch 120 since I have so many beautiful papers from K&Company that I hate to cut up.  This sketch really lets the larger florals have a way to be seen while still providing some structure in the layout.

Details:
  • OWH sketch 120
  • K&Company papers
  • Sentiment stamp from my stash - unknown
  • Spellbinders Grommet Tags
I added a butterfly on this one card (I made 13 of these) to cover a blank spot in the background.  The butterfly punch is from Martha Stewart.  I punched the butterfly from the same paper and mounted it on black cardstock and then trimmed it out.

OWH Sketch 129 Challenge

I am nearing completion of my box for OWH.  I have half a box of general cards, but the other half is lagging behind in love you and thank you cards.  I also need to make a few more missing you cards as well.  This week's 129 sketch Challenge makes a great sentiment only card and I will be using it again!

Details:
  • OWH sketch 129
  • Papers from K&Company - various paper pads
  • Digi sentiment from Elegant Word Art
Here is this week's sketch:

OWH Midweek Throwdown Challenge - Color Challenge

This week's Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home is a Color Challenge.  We are to use two or more complementary colors to make a card.  I chose the colors orange, green, and purple.

  • OWH sketch 53
  • Recollections dotted papers
  • Sentiment stamp from Stampendous

Not Up to the Challenge

This card was supposed to be for our current Midweek Throwdown Challenge at Operation Write Home.  I misread the post and thought it said to use a primary with a complementary color.  Since I like how orange and blue look together and I had this paper I've been hoarding forever, I thought of this card.  It didn't fit the challenge, but I like that I used up some of my hoarded stash!

Details:
  • Poppy digi from Leere Aldrich's collection Nature All Year from PcCrafter, colored in Photoshop Elements
  • Digi sentiment from Create with TLC
  • OWH sketch 15
  • Paper from my stash

Boy-O-Boy!

I really like this image from Gina Jane.  It reminds me of my son when he was younger!

  • OWH sketch 40
  • DCWV striped paper
  • Hello stamp from my stash
  • EK Success border punch

Skater Boy

I used some patterned paper that could be appropriate for a birthday themed card since it has the look of confetti.  I thought this card could go either way and not languish in the OWH box if no one had a child with a birthday coming up.

  • Pre-colored image from Gina Jane's collection Leap Frog from PcCrafter and now available at Daisy Co.
  • OWH sketch 52
  • Cuttlebug EF Distressed Stripes
  • Spellbinders circle dies
  • EK Success border punch
